Jen's march blocks

Jen from the bee 'Bee in my bonnet' sent out some gorgeous pink and green fabrics for her month this month.

She requested 'anything goes' as long as one block featured her Heather Ross Gnome fabric and the other her Heather Ross mushroom fabric. Here is what I came up with :

I thought the gardening gnomes were super cute and begging to be made up into a flower. I have used raw edge applique for this one

The mushroom fabric I thought to use in a improvised block so they look like they were sprouting up everywhere. Hope Jen likes them !

Bias maker and WIP

I thought I would give my new bias maker a workout that I bought last weekend at the craft show, and use it to make a pot holder - an item requested by my {Urban} home goods partner. After quitling and using my tiny scraps of Heather Ross fabric I made my bias from the same print of Kaffe Fassett that I used for the leaves on the tree. I am hoping it dosn't look to '60's with all that orange and green espically as it is going to be used in the kitchen !

The bias make was easy to use and I will definately get a lot of use out of it ! A great purchase ! I need hand stitch the bias, clip the curves etc and then probably work on sometihng smallish and personal to send ????
