{Urban} home goods swap
With a week or so of sickness in the family I have not been able go near my sewing machine. However feeling 100% better now and have managed to finish the goods for my partner. I am going to end up sending :
1. A pile of hexies

2. A pair of potholders
3. A plastic bag/ grocery bag dispenser ( it was hard to get a good photo ogf this one )

The tutorial for the plastic bag dispenser can be found here

As mentioned I was challenged with the fabric style and colour range for my swap partner... I just hope she likes them. I also made the 'tree' ( see previous posts ) which I am going to send unframed to my partner as I was not quite sure whether a pillow would do it justice. I think this will be enough !

Bias maker and WIP
I thought I would give my new bias maker a workout that I bought last weekend at the craft show, and use it to make a pot holder - an item requested by my {Urban} home goods partner. After quitling and using my tiny scraps of Heather Ross fabric I made my bias from the same print of Kaffe Fassett that I used for the leaves on the tree. I am hoping it dosn't look to '60's with all that orange and green espically as it is going to be used in the kitchen !

The bias make was easy to use and I will definately get a lot of use out of it ! A great purchase ! I need hand stitch the bias, clip the curves etc and then probably work on sometihng smallish and personal to send ????

{Urban} Home goods swap - Sneak Peak
As mentioned before, my swap partner in the {Urban} home goods swap requested a few home items, before outlining a few fabrics that she likes. Some of these fabrics are not my usual style and I was worried about the 'look' I was trying to aspire to create.
Anyway..... here is a sneak peak of what I have done thus far:

Urban Home goods swap
I am particpating in an amazing swap.... I have been drooling at the goodies people had made in the first round and jumped on board when the opportunity came up again. It is blind swap in which you don't know who your partner is and you request 5 possible items. I suggested to my partner that a sewing machine cover, placemats, apron would be very much appreciated... but there are so many beautiful things that I would use and love anything !!!! Check out the gorgeous items being made some from very talented people here.
I put together a range of items that have inspired me..... notice all the items made with 'darla' fabric !
