Goodie Bag swap recieved !

I have been drooling at all the gorgeous bags made over at flickr in the 'Goodie Bag swap' and admiring all the talented people out there and there amazing bags. While I would of loved to received any of them I was secretly wanting a particular red/aqua combination made in the gorgeous Amy butler Cosmo bag pattern.

And guess what arrived in the mail today from the lovely traceyjay.....
Just the right size to put wallet, nappy , keys, phone and a million other things that you need for a 2 year old and a newborn !

Pockets on the inside are handy as well and I am loving the Riley Blake sugar and spice fabric in aqua used as the lining !

Tracey also sent a delicious array of scraps featuring my favourite colours - so lucky, so thanks heaps Tracey !

Goodie bag swap

I was lucky enough to accepted a few weeks ago as a last minute addition to the 'Goodie Bag Swap' happening over on flickr. At the time of putting my name in for the swap I was on 'bed rest' with threatened premature labour, was 6 hours from home and did not have access to my sewing machine. CRAZY .... how was I going to get this bag done ???? But I soooooooooooo wanted to join as I love bags and I love swaps.

Any how I manage to get my bag done and sent off in the time frame. My partner requested:
- bright bold patterns
- bright colours in red, pink, aquas - nothing dull
- a fun summer bag that was usable - no clutches.

I think this fits the bill.... what do you think ?
Front view - I used the Amy butler 'Style Stitches' book and the bag is called the 'Cosmo bag'

The back view

The side panel - I stuck to the red, pink and aqua them and used all colours in the pocket on the exterior and the lining

Not a great photo but this is the lining of the bag.

So my bag is on it's little journey..... I love the size and style of this bag and would definitely make one for myself. The only frustrating part of this bag is all the interfacing .....every single piece !!! I hope my partner likes it !

Goodie Bag Swap - sneak peek

I have had all my pieces cut out and half sewn for the 'Goodie Bag Swap' for like 3 weeks .... but lost my sewing mojo a bit. It was a combination of insomnia and feeling like a right off and following Amy butlers ' Cosmo bag' pattern and having to interface EVERY single piece !! Also because my ironing board is in another room, and moving hurts these days I have not picked it up for a few weeks !!

My excuse - 38 weeks pregnant, still have morning sickness, nothing fits and feeling sooooo uncomfortable that sitting hurts !!

Anyway this is the fabric I have used for my bag:

My partner requested something bright, bold and modern and likes pinks, greens and reds. Hope this fits the bill.
So............ I just need to sew the 2 exterior panels together and do the interior.

I better get a wriggle on as posting is nearing very soon and I think this baby will be here before we know it !

Goodie bag swap

I have joined another swap... yes I can't help myself. As the name suggests this one is to swap bags and I LOVE bags !!! Plus it gave me an excuse to buy this book:

I have had my eye on this one for a while and am in LOVE with the bag on the front called a 'Cosmo Bag'. Over at flickr there are a ton of these bags made up. See here.

I think some of my favourites are these ones that use bright, bold colours.

Off to stalk my partner and work out what to make for her !
