August block for Julie

With a busy month ahead I thought I would knock over Julie's blocks tonight.... the fabric only arrived in the mail yesterday so thats not a bad turn-a-round !!!!
She requested blocks that have large interesting squares and her inspiration were these two quilts:

I love the lime green used to border the first block.... would of liked more but I used every bit.

This block allows the fabrics to stand out.
